Code check for Iraq
Status: not available yet. sazeh does not check a building against the codes of Iraq today. It applies one other national set of codes, so a model checked here is not checked against ASCE 7, ACI 318 and AISC 360, commonly referred to. This page exists so that engineers working in Iraq can ask for them: a country is added when enough of them do.
The codes that govern
Structural design practice in Iraq commonly refers to ASCE 7 for loads and seismic design, ACI 318 for concrete and AISC 360 for steel. The edition, and any national seismic hazard table that the project must use, depend on the authority and on the client.
What a check would cover
- Seismic loading and the story drift limit under the referenced standard.
- Concrete and steel members under the edition the project names.
- A calculation sheet in English.
Before this country can be added
It depends on the United States profile, and on a hazard table for Iraqi cities taken from the document that the authority requires. We would ask the engineers who write to us which one that is.
What sazeh does today
It analyses an ETABS model from its .e2k file and checks every member, joint and storey against one national set of codes, then returns a calculation sheet and a corrected model. The ETABS model check tool page says what is read and what is checked, and the limitations page says what is not verified.
Other countries
Request the codes of Iraq
Tell us where to write. We do not add a country until engineers ask for it, and we write only about this request.
Upload your ETABS .e2k model and get the calculation sheet.
